About a month out from harvesting Bavette, we’ve separated mother and daughter in an attempt to make the transition to independence easier for Myrtle.

Although harvesting Kobe prepared Travis and Ronda for the emotional toll it would inevitably take, saying goodbye to Bavette wasn’t easy. Every cow has a unique personality and each bond is special. Bavette got to spend her last moments in her favorite spot, hearing Ronda’s promise to always care for Myrtle as Browsey Acres’ matriarch, where she’ll live a full life for generations to come.
