Our Story

What started in 2017 as a small ranch on a modest 2.4 acres in California, has scaled to just under 4000 acres in Southern Oregon in order to ethically feed more people and maximize the positive impact of regenerative ranching.

The Browsey Acres mentality is simple: By purchasing our Wagyu and Pasture Raised Poultry, you are making the life-changing decision of taking emotional responsibility for where your food comes from. That is what this is all about. That is how it started for Browsey Acres—with a much-loved Wagyu steer named Kobe.

That one of a kind feeling is something special Browsey Acres wants to share with you.

MEET THE MEAT

Once Ronda Rousey and Travis Browne settled into Browsey Acres and made the choice to start a farm, they set out to live the sustainable lifestyle that they had always wanted for themselves. And now, they are sharing that lifestyle with the world in the form of their herd of Fullblood Wagyu cows.

SUSTAINABLE LIFE

Our sustainability story began long before Browsey Acres was even an idea.

From using water catchment systems on our driveway to the Tesla tiles on our roof, we have tried our best to live as sustainably as possible. Currently, we live about 80% off grid and it’s not as hard as you might think. Browsey Acres is a huge responsibility, but living a sustainable lifestyle started with little tweaks here and there.

At first, Ronda was doing things around the house. She made eco bricks by stuffing empty water bottles with inorganic waste in order to keep them from going to the landfill. Then we invested in Tesla roof tiles to save energy, and water catchment systems to conserve our water. Gradually, this became our lifestyle. We became even more impactful with each small choice and step we took.

Browsey Acres started as an idea, and now it's grown to be the amazing place it is today. We want to show everyone change is possible. We know not everyone can start raising their own meat, so we’ve got you covered in that department.

Our cattle have a high quality of life, with people taking care of them every day—people who treat them with love and respect. Every brush and rub is not just love for the cows: Every bit of individualized care is to check on their health and quality of life. We keep close tabs on each cow and always will.
